Ekeberg is located on a promontory in Hjalmaren opposite Göksholm. From 1492 to 1738 the estate was owned by the family Leijonhufvud, and since then it has belonged to members of the families Swedenstjerna, Uggla, Horn, Dalman och Lamberg. Margaret Eriksdotter (Leijonhufvud), wife of King Gustav Vasa, was born at Ekeberg. The manor now belongs to the family Kierkegaard.
